Some months have passed since the launch of Google Drive, Google cloud storage service, and the ecosystem of applications, services and extensions for Chrome which use is already quite broad.
Despite the renewal of the Google Drive Apps, caught attention that Google had not released any application or extension for Chrome that allows us to use this storage space more than offer us a direct access from the application of Chrome panel; a fact that Google solves with the release of the extension Save to Drive.
Save to Drive? Was perhaps not this there already this extension in the Chrome Web Store? Indeed, in the Chrome Web Store we can find an extension called equal, which also allows us to store the content that we are finding the Web, directly, in Google Drive. The difference between an extension and the other is this extension which has today joined the extensive library of extensions for Chrome has been developed directly by Google.
With this extension you can store an image in our space in Google Drive that we want a particular Web page, the HTML code of a page that you are visiting, the file of an entire page (stored in MHT format) or an image in PNG format with a capture of an entire web page. Perhaps, at a glance, the options offered by this extension can seem somewhat scarce and, indeed, the capture of an entire web page is something that Google us already offered from Screen Capture extension.
Although the number of options is limited, in my opinion, the extension is an add-on interesting to take advantage to Google Drive and focus there, for example, resources that we find over the net we want to preserve (screenshots of web pages that you visit).
Precisely, the hand of this extension, Google has decided to give more play to Google Drive in terms of the treatment of images. Google Drive team has decided to improve the image viewer allowing users to zoom, and has also introduced the ability to add comments to images in a way quite particular.
The user may select areas of an image (using a grid) and add your comments to this fragment; something that added to the possibility of sharing with other users opens the door, for example, to work with images of a visit to a work or a design sketch and discuss improvements or errata working collaboratively.
