The American Publisher THQ was yesterday declared officially bankrupt, an action intended to favor the process of sale of assets with the investor group Clearlake Capital Group L.P., who happen to be the owner of the four studies of the company in United States and games currently in development for various platforms. The future of the brand outside of the North American country, that Yes, remains completely in the air not being included within the agreement.

However the feasibility of the projects already announced is the point that most alarms has been jumping between players, but the current President of THQ, Jason Rubin, and its CEO, Brian Farrell, ensures that his team will continue to work on these titles and these will be released on the scheduled dates. It must be remembered that THQ has currently in the oven so promising as Metro works: Last Light or South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The purchase will be materialized with a contribution of 37.5 million dollars by the financial group, that it will not interrupt the operation of the company during the purchase process. The question is, however, on how it will change the THQ team once their new owners enter into action. By the words of Rubin collected from Eurogamer, anyone would say that, unless its charge, is not in danger: "we have an incredible talent at THQ. Experienced investor we start again and we will continue using our intellectual property to develop high quality games, create new franchises, and feed the demand both by traditional channels as well as digital".

Brian Farrell, which ensures be happy has manifested itself on the same line "by having managed to attract a strong financial partner for our business, and we hope that the sale process completed as smoothly as possible". These last words glimpse that not everything can be as pink as they paint it, and that it seems unlikely that investors leave intact the current editor team.

In fact, after announcing the bankruptcy THQ has published a list of projected sales for its titles in which reveals the existence of a new installment of Saints Row, a new project from the creators of Left 4 Dead 2 under the name of 'Evolve', the title 'Atlas' of Relic Entertainment (creators of Company of Heroes 2) or the game ' 1666' part of THQ Montreal. The big question now is which of these games will continue in development and, especially, how will affect workers process. That the template does not suffer trim one seems fairly disposable.

Seen in perspective, the recent THQ Humble Bundle, which was taken by many (myself included, call me innocent) as a gesture of goodwill by the company, surely to respond to the need to close the year with some other milloncejo more on the income account to facilitate the sale. However, the process is already inevitable and only is crossing fingers that the company that has made possible sagas as Darksiders does not end at the landfill.
